6 October 2020: More than 100 Cardiff University students are self-isolating after 19 tested positive for coronavirus. A Cardiff University spokesman warned the number of positive cases is “likely to be higher”. The university said: “We currently have 132 students who are self-isolating, amongst a total student population of some 30,000.” Wales Online.

7 October 2020: Cardiff University start publishing details of covid cases, but  only new cases from 6 October. So far, for 6 & 7 October, there have been 14 new student cases, and one staff.

10 October 2020: Cardiff University: “Students are taking coronavirus tests at a university hall of residence in Cardiff. It comes after a number of students living at the Talybont South halls, have tested positive for Covid-19 in recent days. Many are voluntarily self-isolating so the regional Cardiff and Vale test, trace and protect service has begun testing on site as a precautionary measure.” Wales Online.

12 October 2020: Cardiff University, between 5 and 12 October, have 156 students and 1 staff test positive.

15 October 2020: Cardiff University, between 5 and 14 October, have 284 students and 1 staff test positive.

22 October 2020: Cardiff University: More than 700 Cardiff University students and three staff have reported testing positive for coronavirus with the NHS since the start of October and more than 2,000 are currently self isolating. Separately, the university’s in-house asymptomatic test service has identified a further 292 cases among staff and students.” Wales Online.

23 October 2020: Cardiff University: Between 5 October and 22 October, 829 students and 3 staff test positive.
